GU4 (MR11) LED Bulbs
GU4 LED spots have an MR11 shape and operate at 12 volts. Therefore, they can not be connected directly to the mains and require a transformer. The GU4 LED spot is usually used as accent lighting in small fixtures, since it is a very compact spot. As a result, it is traditionally used in hospitality and residential applications. Replacing the halogen spot is easy with its bi-pin socket and no changes have to be made to the fixture. In comparison to old halogen spots, LED GU4 lamps have a lower power consumption combined with a longer lifetime (10 years). This means you do not have to replace the bulb annually.

Every bulb or fixture has an energy efficiency class A to G. Energy label A is the most efficient and G the least. LED lighting is the most sustainable lighting technique. Even if a LED bulb is rated E or lower, they still save 70% of energy compared to conventional lighting with the same energy label. Why is it the same label then? To motivate LED brands to get even more durable.
